The Annual Performance Agreement (APA) is essentially a memorandum of understanding signed between the Cabinet Secretary as a representative of the Honorable Prime Minister of the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh and the Secretary of the concerned Ministry/Division as a representative of the Honorable Minister in charge of the concerned Ministry.Annual performance contracts have been introduced under the Government Performance Management System to increase transparency and accountability in government activities, ensure proper utilization of resources, and develop institutional capacity. This agreement outlines the strategic objectives of the relevant ministry/department, the activities undertaken to achieve these strategic objectives, and the performance indicators and targets to measure the results of these activities. After the completion of the relevant fiscal year, the actual achievements of the concerned ministry/department will be evaluated against the targets set in the agreement for that year.
